Chicken Apple Breakfast Sausage
Have you ever looked closely at the nutrition label on a package of sausage? So many brands add sugar to their sausage. You read that right, sugar!! How about a delicious sausage variation that you make at home AND has no sugar added?! If that’s what you are looking for then you’ve come to the right place.
I’ve recently started making this chicken apple breakfast sausage myself and it’s delish! The combination of the chicken, the apple, and the cinnamon make it a perfect breakfast option. But if you want to have this for lunch, or dinner, or a snack, then go for it!!
INGREDIENTS
- 1lb ground chicken
- 1 apple, shredded (I like fuji apples for mine!)
- 1 tbsp cinnamon (more or less to your liking but the cinnamon is what makes this great!)
- salt and pepper to taste
- cooking oil – coconut oil is my go to but use what you like!
DIRECTIONS
- Mix all ingredients in a bowl
- Form 8 patties
- Heat oil in a large frying pan or cast iron skillet over medium heat
- Fry each patty until cooked through; about 3-5 minutes per side
- Enjoy immediately or cool and refrigerate
These are great by themselves, amazing with runny eggs, and SO GOOD with pancakes and syrup (trust me!).
